A 63-year-old woman had her leg amputated after being attacked by her son’s dogs in her own backyard on the outskirts of Salt Lake City, Utah, in the United States.

When the police arrived at the house, they had to shoot and kill one of the seven dogs as it posed a threat. According to the police statement, the injured woman called for help while still in her yard with the adult male and female dogs, as well as their five pit bull puppies.
Upon arriving at the scene, the officers found the woman still surrounded by the dogs. They used pepper spray to drive the animals away and managed to restrain the dogs. However, the adult female dog managed to escape, and the police were forced to euthanize her.
The fate of the other six dogs remained uncertain, as the owner surrendered them to the police after the attack.
