A woman shared the incredible bond between her Golden Retriever dog, who adopted a lamb that was abandoned by its mother.
In addition to Benny, the dog has two puppies, Boris and Darcy, and adopted the lamb after its mother refused to care for it, as she only wanted her two older siblings. Her owner revealed that Benny’s mother gave birth to triplets but could only care for two of them.

In a video posted on TikTok, she tells how the Golden Retriever’s maternal instincts were triggered when she saw the lamb. “You’re not always born into a family. Lily will always love Benny as if he were her own child. Benny will always love his mother, Lily. He will never feel lonely or rejected again,” she wrote.
“Lily still loves to clean Benny, play with him, and always takes care of him. If anyone is too rough around him or if the mother sheep comes to push him away, Lily will intervene,” the owner added.
She shared heartwarming footage of Lily playing with all three puppies while the owner joked that Benny now thinks he’s a dog.
On Instagram, she explained more about how Lily started adopting the black-and-white lamb. “I’m convinced he thinks he’s a dog now, although I bring his triplet siblings inside (one at a time) so they can play because he loves them. He also loves his mother, but nature says she can only raise two. We do NOT hold any grudges against the mother. She’s really very smart, but my heart ached for Benny when he was sad,” she shared.

“When he’s a little older, he’ll join us on walks with his pack of dogs. Our neighbors will think we’re completely crazy, but I really don’t care. Benny literally follows the dogs and Aaron and me everywhere. He loves company,” she added.
