The children found the purple suitcase in a wooded area in North Lanarkshire on Sunday, November 12. The suitcase was partially wrapped in a pink child’s woolly jumper.
Emergency services were alerted following the discovery of the dog’s body. The dog, a white and brown Staffordshire Bull Terrier cross, was male and approximately three years old.
He was found wearing a black leather collar with a silver and gold dog tag. The Scottish SPCA urges anyone with information to come forward.
