The Japanese man who went viral on social media after spending over $16,000 to “become” a dog apparently failed an agility course.
In 2022, the anonymous man contacted a professional agency called Zeppet and requested a costume of a Collie dog, according to a report from NDTV. The costume, which cost around $16,000, took 40 days to complete.
Known to his followers as Toco, the man posted a series of photos on Instagram this week showing what appeared to be moments of failure in an agility course.
Since the post did not include any videos, it is unclear whether he actually failed the popular canine skill test, but some of the images show him “breaking” the obstacles.
“When you become a dog, you want to experience agility, right?”, he wrote in the caption of the photos. The post divided opinions among internet users in the comments.
“He did his best, that’s what matters,” commented an Instagram user. “Please take your medicine,” advised another. “You’re not a dog, you’re an old man with a BIG mental problem,” criticized a third user.
