A puppy who lost all nine members of his family in the Jeju plane crash on December 29 is waiting for a new home.
Pudding was rescued by an animal rights group after being left alone in a village in Yeonggwang County, South Korea. His owner, a 79-year-old man, traveled to Thailand at the end of the year but did not return home.
He was among the victims of the fatal Jeju plane crash that claimed the lives of 179 people, the animal rights group Coexistence of Animal Rights on Earth (Care) said in an Instagram post on January 1.
According to a report from The Korea Herald, Pudding’s owner was the oldest victim of the crash. His wife, two daughters, a son-in-law, his granddaughter, and three grandchildren were also on board. Care said that Pudding was wandering the village after the crash, seemingly searching for his family.
Some local residents were feeding the puppy before he was rescued by the organization. “We determined that it wasn’t safe for Pudding to wander the village without a caretaker. After contacting the grieving family at the funeral, we decided to care for Pudding until a suitable guardian could be found,” the animal rights group said.
