Many yoga studios have gained popularity by offering yoga sessions with dogs and cats, but a studio in a California city thought outside the box and created yoga classes with snakes.
The yoga classes with snakes take place at LXRyoga in Costa Mesa. During the sessions, ball pythons are “consciously integrated into this gentle yoga class,” according to the studio’s website.
Tes Cao, co-owner of LXRyoga, told KNX News that the idea came up in 2019. “We opened our hot yoga studio upstairs, and it was well before the pandemic hit,” she said.
“Then we completely closed, and that’s when we brought home our first ball python. My husband came up with the idea to try yoga with snakes one day.”

She said that people don’t come just for the yoga. “It could be to overcome the fear of snakes because of what we see on TV and in movies. Snakes are always the villains. It doesn’t matter what kind of snake it is.”
The classes are small, with only four people allowed per session, and the price is $160 for one to three people, with $50 for any additional person.
