Waffle is an 8-year-old orange tabby cat from Santa Clara, California (USA), who has won many fans on social media with her adorable outfits.

Kathy Guo and Sam Xie, Waffle’s owners, created an Instagram account for their cat and have been posting photos of Waffle in various fun and eccentric outfits for years. “We started dressing Waffle when she was very young. Back then, we did it just for fun,” he told Fox News.

“We started with really simple things like collars, bandanas, capes, etc., and gradually moved on to more complex costumes, like those requiring the passing of the paws,” Xie added.

Currently, Waffle has over 28,000 followers on her Instagram profile. So, naturally, the cat’s owners are constantly thinking of ways to gain even more fans for their beloved feline.

Quickly, Waffle’s followers began asking where they could buy the cat’s outfits for their own felines. With a new idea in mind, Xie said he started selling aprons online because they were easier to put on a cat that couldn’t be domesticated.

“To help promote my aprons on Instagram, that’s where ‘Waffle, The Barista’ was born. Many people love coffee, and we thought: ‘Why not use Waffle’s paws to do this? So it looks like she’s the one making the coffee,'” the couple explained.

Over the years, Xie said he and his wife have spent around $20,000 on Waffle’s journey to becoming a barista, which includes props, coffee, aprons, merchandise, and a customized Starbucks Cat Tree, which cost them around $2,000.
