“This is a harmless San Diego Gopher snake that I found and had been handling for some time. This snake was very calm, not at all defensive, and had no interest in biting. My son has seen more snakes than most children his age and can only handle snakes that I have dealt with and can assure that he is in no danger,” he said.
“He is learning which ones are dangerous, but since he is too young to fully understand, I limit his interactions with reptiles only to docile animals. […] I don’t want him to grow up afraid of snakes because of a bad experience, since he loves discovering animals with me, so I want him to have wonderful experiences so that he can grow up appreciating wildlife,” added the baby’s father.
