Prisco Hernandez, 34, of Russellville, was arrested on Monday (19). He is in the Franklin County Jail, according to jail records.

According to the WHNT channel, Hernandez drove to the Russellville police station and said he had just stabbed his dog. He had blood on his hands, and police believed he was intoxicated.

A check of Hernandez’s home in a trailer park revealed “quite a bit of blood,” according to the report. A bloodied kitchen knife was also found in the home, according to investigators.

The dog was still alive but barely breathing when Animal Control staff were called. The little dog ultimately succumbed to the injury and died later.

According to the sheriff’s office, Hernandez told a translator that he tried to resuscitate the dog with an air compressor.
