A 5-year-old boy is hospitalized after eating a dead snake in the Jamui district of India, according to reports from local media outlets.

Sources said that two children cooked a dead snake on fire and ate it. Ruby Khatoon, the victim’s mother, Farhad, said she was told by villagers that her son was playing with a child from the same village.
Khatoon accused the other child of deliberately feeding her son the snake. “The other boy is older than my son. He deliberately cooked and fed my son a snake, which caused his health to deteriorate.”
Khatoon said that when she asked her son about the incident, he was scared and did not talk about it. After returning home, Farhad’s health worsened, and they immediately took him to the local health center in Khaira.
Farhad had to be referred to Sadar Hospital for specialized treatment. Fortunately, the doctor who treated the child at Sadar Hospital said he is now out of danger. The local police have not yet commented on the matter.
