Fedja, a cross-eyed cat of four years old, has amassed over 300,000 followers on Instagram, thanks to his peculiar appearance.

Fedja was born with a coordination disorder and initially struggled to move, with his owner, Natalya Zhdanova, 42 years old, fearing he wouldn’t survive when she found him in her backyard in 2020.
She nursed the orphaned kitten until he became well, and her neighbor’s cat, named Handsome, would come over every day to help care for the little one. “He was very weak and dying. Handsome cleaned and licked Fedja and became like a father figure to him,” Natalia told SWNS in 2021.
Fedja, who was found when he was just a week old, is now a healthy adult at four years old. “He and Handsome are inseparable,” the woman recounted about the loyal feline who aided in Fedja’s recovery. “They are the best of friends.”

“Now he’s much healthier. He’s a very sweet, gentle, playful, and intelligent cat. He purrs very loudly,” she added. Despite being a happy and healthy cat, his face remained the same, and the cause of his unusual expression is still unclear.
“We’re not sure if it’s a genetic deformity or if [it’s because] he was abandoned by his mother when he was a kitten,” Natalya still shared. Either way, the cat’s amusing expression is winning over thousands of fans on his Instagram profile (@Fedja_Kot).
